Overview
The MUST PV18-3224 VPM II is a 3.2kW (3,200W), 24V hybrid solar inverter from MUST's PV1800 VPM II series. It combines a pure sine wave inverter, a 60A MPPT solar charge controller and a battery charger in one wall-mounted unit, and switches automatically between solar, grid and battery power. Who it's for Homes, shops and small offices with a 24V battery bank who want to run on solar during the day, recharge from solar or the grid, and keep the power on during outages. What it can power It delivers 3,200W continuously, which is about 2–3kW of everyday loads (lights, fans, TVs, a fridge, laptops and Wi-Fi), with a 6.4kVA surge for motor starts; not for air conditioners. How long it runs depends on your battery bank, not the inverter. These figures are estimates; actual performance depends on your appliances, batteries and installation. Key specifications in plain language • Solar: 60A MPPT charge controller taking up to 1,600W of panels (for example 2 x 550W, or 3 panels of up to 530W), with string open-circuit voltage kept below 160V, so no more than 3 typical panels in series. • Charging: up to 120A total battery charging (solar + grid), with lead-acid and lithium charging profiles. • Grid: wide input range (170–280V in UPS mode, 90–280V in appliance mode) to cope with unstable supply, with a 10ms transfer time. • MPPT charge controller with 98% maximum efficiency. • PV lithium battery activation. • Generator compatible. • Standby consumption 2W. • Size: 290 x 367.4 x 121mm and 5.5kg, for indoor wall mounting. Compatibility Use it with a 24V battery bank: lithium (LiFePO4), flooded/tubular, AGM or gel. Set the battery type in the inverter menu before first use. Install it indoors in a ventilated space, with correctly sized battery and PV cables, breakers and earthing. Installation should be done by a qualified installer. Warranty & support 2 years from MUST, the manufacturer. Questions about this product
What can it power?
It delivers 3,200W continuously, which is about 2–3kW of everyday loads (lights, fans, TVs, a fridge, laptops and Wi-Fi), with a 6.4kVA surge for motor starts; not for air conditioners. Add up the wattage of everything you want to run at the same time and keep it under the rating.
Which batteries does it work with?
Any 24V battery bank: lithium (LiFePO4), flooded/tubular, AGM or gel. From our range, that includes the Felicity FLA24100 (2.56kWh), Felicity LPBF24200-M (5kWh) and Dyness DL2.5 (2.56kWh). Set the inverter's battery type to match. Two 12V batteries in series also make 24V. Lithium BMS communication: Optional CAN / RS485 port for lithium BMS. Ask your installer to confirm the battery's protocol is supported. To run the full 3,200W from batteries, the bank must supply about 148A continuously, so check the batteries' discharge rating and add batteries in parallel if needed.
How many solar panels can I connect?
The built-in MPPT controller takes up to 1,600W of panels (for example 2 x 550W, or 3 panels of up to 530W), with string open-circuit voltage kept below 160V, so no more than 3 typical panels in series. A qualified installer should design the strings.
Does it keep running when NEPA/grid power fails?
Yes. It switches between grid, solar and battery automatically, with a 10ms transfer time in UPS mode, so computers and TVs normally keep running.
Where should I install it?
Indoors on a wall, in a ventilated spot away from rain and direct sun. It measures 290 x 367.4 x 121mm and weighs 5.5kg.
What warranty does it have?
2 years from MUST. Claims go through MUST via our supplier, so keep your proof of purchase and installation records.

Overall
We found no independent owner reviews of this exact model (PV18-3224 VPM II). MUST has made inverters since 2010 and is one of the most widely sold inverter brands in Nigeria, valued for price and availability. As with any inverter, the most common problems reported online for budget hybrid inverters come from undersized cables, poor ventilation or PV strings above the voltage limit, so professional installation matters.
