Overview
The Dyness DL2.5 is a 25.6V, 100Ah (2.56kWh) lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) battery for 24V solar and inverter systems. It is a slim 23kg module with a built-in battery management system (BMS), CAN/RS485 communication so it can talk to your inverter, and a rating of 6,000+ cycles, so it is built to be charged and discharged every day for years. Who it's for Homes, shops and small offices running a 24V inverter (typically about 1.5kVA to 3kVA), charged from solar panels, the grid or both. It also suits anyone replacing a lead-acid or tubular battery bank with lithium. You can start with one module and add more later: up to 16 can be connected in parallel (40.96kWh in total), and modules at different charge levels can be mixed. What it can power About 90% of the 2.56kWh is usable, roughly 2.3kWh. As a rough guide, that runs a 300W load (a few LED lights, a fan, a TV and Wi-Fi) for about 7 hours, or a 1,000W load for about 2 hours. The recommended continuous current is 50A (about 1,280W), and the battery can supply up to 130A (about 3.3kW) in short bursts, so add more modules if your inverter is larger. It isn't suited to running air conditioners, pressing irons, kettles or water heaters. These figures are estimates; actual runtime depends on your appliances and your inverter's efficiency. Key specifications in plain language • Long life: rated for 6,000+ cycles (at 0.2C, 25°C, 90% depth of discharge), which is many years of daily use. • Safe: LiFePO4 is the most stable lithium chemistry for home storage; the built-in BMS includes short-circuit lockout, and the battery is certified to UN38.3, CE-EMC, IEC 62619 and ECE R10. • Smart: CAN/RS485 communication lets compatible inverters read the battery, and an optional WiFi module adds monitoring and updates through the Dyness app. • Compact: 481 x 221 x 133mm, indoors only (IP20). Compatibility Use it with a 24V inverter or hybrid inverter that supports lithium batteries. Dyness lists Steca, Sorotec, Must, Victron, Growatt and SRNE inverters. Check that your inverter is on the Dyness compatibility list and use the right communication cable: Dyness says most setup faults come from the wrong cable, wrong settings or an unlisted inverter. Connect modules in parallel only. Installation should be done by a qualified installer. Cables and accessories should be confirmed when you order. Warranty & support 5 years from Dyness on the battery cells, BMS, case and cables under its Africa warranty terms, with a performance guarantee of at least 70% of rated energy for 5 years or 3.57MWh of energy throughput, whichever comes first. The warranty starts at installation, or 180 days after shipment from the factory if that is earlier. It drops to 3 years if the battery is used without its communication cable connected, or in a vehicle, camper or boat. Register the battery in the Dyness app. We supply this product through a partner supplier, so claims are handled by Dyness through that supplier. What buyers say See the User Reviews section below. Delivery Delivery time and cost depend on your location and are confirmed when you order. Each module weighs 23kg, so it ships by road.

Questions about this product
Which inverters is it compatible with?
Dyness lists Steca, Sorotec, Must, Victron, Growatt and SRNE inverters. Check your inverter against the Dyness inverter compatibility list and use the right CAN or RS485 communication cable.
Do I have to connect the communication cable?
Yes, you should. Under Dyness's Africa warranty terms the warranty drops from 5 years to 3 years if the battery is used without its communication connection, or in a vehicle, camper or boat.
Can I add more modules later, even if the charge levels differ?
Yes. Up to 16 modules can be connected in parallel (40.96kWh). Dyness says its battery equalization supports mixing modules at different charge levels.
Does it have WiFi?
A WiFi module is optional. Registering the battery in the Dyness app is needed to activate the warranty.
How long will it run my appliances?
About 2.3kWh is usable (90% depth of discharge): roughly 7 hours for a 300W load or 2 hours for a 1,000W load. These are estimates and depend on your inverter.
Where can I install it?
Indoors only (IP20), at 0°C to 55°C when charging. It weighs 23kg and measures 481 x 221 x 133mm.

Overall
We found no independent owner reviews of this exact model (DL2.5) online, only seller listings, so there is not yet a buyer verdict to summarise. Dyness is an established brand whose batteries are listed as compatible with Victron, Growatt, SRNE, Must and other common inverters. Dyness's own support pages say most setup problems come from the wrong communication cable, wrong settings or an inverter that is not on its compatibility list, so check this before buying.
Review 1
A South African solar buying guide covering a related Dyness model (the DL5.0C) describes Dyness as a value option that installers choose when a customer needs a cheaper quote than Pylontech while keeping LiFePO4 chemistry. The guide gave no long-term failure data either way.
