Genus Graphite 12V 200Ah Tall Tubular Wet Cell Inverter Battery (GXCT-GGT-20018)
Overview
The Genus Graphite GGT 20018 is a 12V 200Ah tall tubular wet cell (flooded lead-acid) battery for inverter and solar backup. It uses Genus's Nano Graphite Technology, thick tubular plates and a large acid volume, and it's built to handle long, frequent power cuts. Who it's for Homes, shops and small offices that want a dependable, lower-cost battery than lithium. One battery suits a 12V inverter of about 1kVA to 1.5kVA. For bigger inverters, connect identical batteries in series: 2 for a 24V inverter (about 2.5kVA) or 4 for a 48V inverter (about 5kVA). What it can power The battery stores 2.4kWh (12V × 200Ah, rated at the 20-hour rate). For a long life, use about half of that each day. As a rough guide, one battery runs a 300W load (lights, 2 fans, a TV and Wi-Fi) for about 3–4 hours, or a 150W load (lights, a fan and phone charging) for about 6–8 hours. It isn't suited to running air conditioners, pressing irons, kettles or water heaters. These figures are estimates; actual runtime depends on your appliances, your inverter and how deeply you discharge the battery. Key specifications in plain language • Long life for lead-acid: rated for over 1,200 cycles at 80% depth of discharge, which Genus says is about double a sealed (VRLA) battery. • Tall tubular design with thicker plates, a selenium low-antimony alloy and pressure die-cast spines, for deep discharge and recovery. • Low maintenance: very low water loss, with 6 float indicators that show when the electrolyte needs topping up with distilled water. • Faster recharge from the grid, a generator or solar. Compatibility Works with any 12V inverter, UPS or solar charge controller that has a setting for flooded/tubular lead-acid batteries. Only connect batteries of the same model and age together. Install it upright in a well-ventilated place: wet cell batteries give off hydrogen gas while charging. Installation and cables are not included. In the box 1 × battery, filled with electrolyte and ready to use. Warranty and support Manufacturer warranty from Genus Nigeria (Simba Group), Genus's official distributor in Nigeria. The warranty period is confirmed at order, and claims are handled through our supplier. What buyers say Genus is a well-known inverter and battery brand in Nigeria. See the User Reviews section for a balanced summary. Delivery Supplied from Lagos. Delivery time and cost depend on your location and are confirmed at order. The battery weighs about 66kg filled, so plan for two people to handle it, and keep it upright.

Overall
Genus is a long-established inverter and battery brand in Nigeria, distributed by Simba Group, and the Graphite 200Ah is stocked by many Nigerian solar stores. We found few detailed independent reviews of this exact model, so the points below come from Nigerian buying guides and sellers.
Review 1
Nigerian buying guides list Genus among the common mid-priced tubular brands and say tall tubular batteries like this one last noticeably longer than sealed (VRLA/gel) batteries when kept topped up and not over-discharged.
Review 2
A 2026 Nigerian price guide warns that 200Ah tubular batteries sold far below the usual price (under about ₦130,000) are often recycled or refurbished units sold as new, and advises buying from authorised dealers and keeping the warranty card.
Review 3
Sellers note the battery is heavy (about 66kg) and must stay upright, and that its life depends mostly on regular distilled-water top-ups and not draining it below about half on a daily basis.
